Consultant and Assistant Solicitors

The successful candidates should have excellent academic qualifications; a minimum of five years of PQE for Consultant, and one year PQE for Assistant Solicitor, in civil litigation; and high proficiency in English. Proficiency in Chinese is an advantage. Experience in Family Law will also be an advantage.

Paralegal

The successful candidate for this role should :

  • Possess a common law degree (though we will consider part-time law degree students) and a proven interest or experience in the areas of work the firm undertakes.
  • Have a proven ability to digest large amounts  of information and re-articulate positions in a crisp, concise and relevant fashion, orally, by hand and by MS Word.
  • Take initiative and individual responsibility and discharge the same enthusiastically in an organised and professional manner.
  • Successfully commit to deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Be highly motivated and exhibit a constant “can do” approach to work.
  • Be fluent and confident in written and spoken English.
  • Be able to multi-task and to work flexibly  both independently and as part of a team.

Trainee Solicitor Contracts

  • We believe that trainees should work under supervision rather than simply be given cases and told to get on with it.
  • On joining the firm you will be introduced to the office administration, accounts, IT and time record system.
  • During your training contract you will work closely with your supervising principal's cases. You may be engaged in taking witness statements, sitting behind counsel in court, visiting clients in custody, researching recent authorities and preparing letters, briefs, applications, and other documents. These will however be scrutinized so that you gain fully from the experience we offer.
  • You will have regular informal performance review sessions with your principal; and at the end of each seat your performance will be assessed at an appraisal by your principal.
  • We encourage feedback and will be open to suggestions on issues ranging from which continuing professional development courses you wish to attend, to general management procedures.
  • We also welcome your participation in community and Law Society events.

Law student mentorship and intern placements

  • We are a member of the Law Student Mentor Scheme of the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
  • Our intern placement programme has been extended to cover the Australian and New Zealand summer vacation months November – February 
  • We offer placements of not less than 4 weeks and encourage longer placements subject to availability.

Admin Assistant

Requirements

  • F. 7 or above
  • Fair written and spoken English, fluent Chinese.
  • Responsible, with a positive and can-do attitude, enthusiastic and flexible.
  • Detail-minded
  • Good PC skills
  • Immediately available preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to a team of legal professionals
  • Drafting, billing, translation and court filing
